Senator Switalski Apologizes:

"My Stimulus Plan has Failed."

State Senator Michael Switalski, locked in a tight race with US Rep Sander Levin for the Democratic Nomination in the 12th Congressional District, today issued a formal apology to the people of Michigan for the failure of his targeted Stimulus Plan.

"Part of the reason I ran against Sander Levin for Congress was to force him to visit the District and spend some of his $1.7 million in campaign funds on businesses in Michigan and local people," explained Switalski. "I thought this might create a mini-stimulus to reduce unemployment and increase business activity. Unfortunately, Mr. Levin has contracted with a Boston Company to do his website, has done his polling out of Nevada, and hired Consultants from Washington DC."

Levin's website was done by Liberty Concepts out of Boston, hired the Mellman Group as consultants, and his polling calls are made by callers from Nevada. "We lead the nation in unemployment," observed Switalski, "and we have talented consultants like Dick Sabaugh, pollsters like Denno/Noor, and web designers like the Mousetrap Group. When you've been in Congress too long, you think of your friends in Washington first and you forget about your struggling constituents."

Though admitting that his gambit had failed, Switalski promised to redouble his efforts. "Right now the tide is against me," admitted Switalski. "Levin has raised money locally, but he has outsourced the work to other states. He also gave $350,000 to congressmen outside of Michigan. Levin has made us more of a donor state. We need these campaign dollars to stay in Michigan. We can't afford a Congressman who squanders Michigan capital on other states."
